City of Dublin Only U.S. City to Earn Four AAA Rating Honors for Exceptional Financial Stewardship

(Dublin, Ohio) – In recognition of exceptional financial stewardship, the City of Dublin has received the highest credit rating from S&P Global Ratings, Fitch Ratings, Moody’s Investor Service and KBRA. This was the first year that the City was reviewed by KBRA, and their rating makes Dublin the first and only city in the United States to earn four AAA ratings.

  • S&P Global Ratings assigned its AAA long-term rating, recognizing Dublin’s economic development tools and infrastructure investments to retain and attract businesses.
  • Fitch Ratings assigned Dublin a AAA rating, acknowledging the City’s well-diversified economy and financial resilience.
  • Moody’s Investor Service gave Dublin a Aaa rating, noting the City’s robust financial position and strong resident income.
  • KBRA assigned an inaugural long-term rating of AAA, highlighting the City’s diverse and growing tax base and conservative City budgeting and financial management practices.

“The City previously sought ratings from S&P, Moody’s and Fitch. This year, we add KBRA to subject our policies, financial processes and specifically the 2024 bond issuance, including the acquisition of land in the West Innovation District, to additional scrutiny,” says Director of Finance Matthew Stiffler. “We’re proud of this recognition of the City’s Finance team and the confirmation it offers for our strong financial framework and foundation as stewards for our community.”
